Following its 2026 designation as an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner, Qatar has actively engaged in enhancing economic cooperation with the bloc. This partnership builds on Qatar’s earlier move to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in 2022, signaling its commitment to fostering regional ties. The collaboration extends across various sectors including energy, aviation, healthcare, agribusiness, telecommunications, fintech, and digital technology.
Significantly, both ASEAN and Qatar are delving into opportunities within renewable energy, green technology, sustainable infrastructure, smart cities, and digital transformation.
